The only options we had for “a la Carte” dinner on Sunday night was Mexican or Italian. We were not going to choose Mexican…come on, we’re from Texas! So we rolled the dice with Il Capriccio. Unfortunately, I lost. The appetizers/starters are set up at a buffet. They have a little bar to make your [...]
After the wedding, we all had dinner at the Garden Grill. We had the whole place to ourselves, which was nice. It was fixed menu. Ceasar Salad with Chicken – this was the most mild Caesar dressing I’ve ever had and was fine to eat, not great, but edible. I did not enjoy the chicken [...]
We came here for a wedding and all the guests were invited to the “BBQ restaurant” on Friday night. We actually ate here the night before as it was the only “A la Carte” restaurant available Thursday night (the process of making reservations at the “A la Carte” restaurants was ridiculous!). Las Olas: “Beach Snack Bar” This is where we ate lunch at EVERY DAY. It is also a buffet. During off hours, it’s the only place to get food. They claim to be open from 10am – 6pm. Of course, when we ate here on Sunday, they didn’t put hot food out until 12pm, so [...]
For the next few posts, I’m going to flush the format a little. We vacationed and attended a wedding in the Dominican Republic from May 13-18th. We stayed at the Gran Bahia Prinicipe Resort in Punta Cana, Dominican Republic Bouganvilla: “Restaurant International Buffet” We ate here for dinner the first night because we arrived too [...]
The experience I have been looking for a Caribbean restaurant since we moved here from Nashville, but have not been to a single one since we moved here. Ogre remembered that there was one called Taste of the Islands in Plano so we thought this would be a great adventure for us.
Childsplate.com chronicles our journey to find the perfect family restaurant. We are looking for restaurants with excellent food and a great attitude towards kids, even the whiny, cranky ones! We will be headed out to a different restaurant every single day to provide ourselves (and you) with some entertainment and good information about DFW area restaurants. We hope you will visit frequently and use our experiences to create some fun dining experiences of your own! Watch out, DFW, the Phipps family is going out to eat!
